Workshops and Tuition
My workshops are tailored to individual needs and small groups. Workshops include:
EXHIBITIONS - Planning & producing your first exhibition
WAYS OF SEEING – Developing your photographic vision
HAVE CAMERA WILL TRAVEL – Getting the most out of your travel photography experience
THE DARK ARTS – Hand crafted alternative photographic processes including Cyanotypes, Van Dyke and Argyrotypes amongst others.
In addition to my own photographic practice, I possess a Cert IV in Training & Assessment and have worked as a lecturer in the Photography department in one of Western Australia’s premier tertiary education institutions. As a result I can develop and implement structured photography tuition for individuals or groups that will suit individual needs. Contact me to discuss your requirements or visit my blog for more information about upcoming workshops and projects.
Exhibition planning & Project Management
WANT TO HAVE AN EXHIBITION BUT DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START?
I have had several years experience organising and implementing exhibitions and photo projects at a local and international level. These include initiating the UNDECLARED CUSTOMS photographers exchange between Australia and Thailand in 2007, developing and coordinating the FotoFreo 08 Fringe Festival program and curating the Growing Pains: Timor-Leste exhibition project for FotoFreo 2010 and was on the curatorial panel for the very successful Australian Family Project which included 29 photographers, launched during FotoFreo 2012 and is now touring Australia. I also mentor several student and emerging photographers, assisting them to plan and produce their own shows. I can help with all aspects of developing and implementing your project idea, from concept development, curatorial advice, finding venues and funding sources, production and documentation of exhibited work, media and promotion, installation and invigilation. You tell me what you want to do and I can help make it a reality.
Much of my personal and professional photographic practice has involved traveling outside of Australia. Over the years I have developed close contacts with photographic communities in South East Asia as well as visiting some very interesting and photogenic locations along the way. Once or twice per year I take a small, select group of photographers to some of my favourite locations for a week of photography and fun. I generally try to coincide the trip with locations that are holding events or festivals such as the Angkor Photo Festival held at Siem Reap (near the famous Angkor Wat temples) in Cambodia. Contact me or bookmark my blog or Facebook page for details of the next trip.
Custom B&W printing & Artwork reproduction services
I offer a custom silver gelatin (traditional B&W ‘wet’ darkroom) exhibition printing service. I can print up to 20 x 24 inches on a variety of resin-coated and fiber-based paper stocks. Post production, including toning and hand coloring services are also available. I also provide an artwork documentation service, providing high quality documentation and photographic reproduction of 2D and 3D artworks. For a cost estimate, please contact me with your requirements.
