About Julian (jules) Tennant

After a decade in the Australian Regular Army I embarked on a career change and undertook tertiary studies in photography, graduating in 1998. Since then I have worked as a freelance commercial, documentary & editorial photographer and writer, for numerous clients and publications. I am a full member of the Australian Commercial and Media Photographers (ACMP) association for professional photographers.

Art and travel are my other passions and I have been fortunate to incorporate both into my professional practice, either through my editorial work or in my exhibition projects. In addition to numerous exhibitions within Australia I have exhibited in Cambodia, Lithuania as part of the Kaunas Photography Festival and in Thailand, where I am represented by the Pikture Gallery in Bangkok.

I am also actively involved with the local and regional photographic and arts communities, including a stint as chairman of the Blend(er) Gallery & JCAA and being an organising committee member of FotoFreo which is the largest photography festival in the Southern Hemisphere. In addition I lecture in the Photography and Media departments of the Central Institute of Technology

My facebook page is constantly updated with information about exhibitions, events, new developments in photography as well as bits & pieces from some of the worlds leading photographers whom I am privileged to call friends. Visit my Flickr is where I post new and different photo series. And of course, twitter for the day to day gibberish.
